Six monasteries can be visited at Meteora, and each one closes on a different day of the week. They all shut early, too: Great Meteoron, the most famous, at 15:00. No official site publishes this clearly, so here is the whole table, by season.

Entry: €5 per person per monastery, cash only, at the door. Six monasteries come to €30 per person if you see them all; tours never include it. Compulsory dress code for men and women: shoulders and knees covered, no vest tops or shorts. Women enter in a skirt below the knee: wrap-around skirts are lent at the entrance of each monastery to put on over your clothes.
Organised tours already plan the route around the day’s closures and go inside three monasteries. From Athens or Thessaloniki (€79 and €95) or, if you sleep locally, from Kalambaka (from €35).

The monasteries set their own hours and can change them without notice, especially on religious feast days. If you are going on a specific day for a specific monastery, confirm at your hotel the night before.
